First, you need to decide what type of TV Recorder is right for you. Simply put, a Personal Video Recorder (PVR or DVR) is a set-top box with two or more TV tuners (record 2 channels at once) and a hard drive built-in. Whereas Mac and PC solutions offer full-blown computing functionality on your TV screen, as well as all the basic TV recording features of a PVR or DVR.
