IceTV - Padding

Almost all PVRs, Macs and Media Center PCs can automatically add time to the start and end of recordings. This is called 'padding'. Adding a few minutes of padding before a show and 20-30 minutes of padding at the end of the show ensures the entire program is recorded, even if the TV station is running late*. You'll never miss the start or end of that show again.

Windows Media Center users will love the extra record padding our software adds—boost the standard 4 minutes up to 60 minutes!

Please note that with the exception of Windows Media Center, padding is not a feature directly provided by IceTV... it's on your TV recorder itself.

*Unless the stations are running more than 20-30 minutes late, which is rare, but does happen. Most recorders allow for variable padding, so you can set it to the amount of time you think is best.
