Keyword Recordings are a great way to record shows by actor name, director name or by general search words.
To add a Keyword Record, enter your keyword in the Search field and once you have performed a search for any matches in the next 7 days, select the “Add a Keyword Record or Keyword Favourite” link. Then choose between a bunch of advanced series recording options to ensure your shows will record on your device at home as you'd like, then click Add Keyword Record.
More advanced users may wish to use the advanced search terms, allowing for more powerful searches. Please see the help page on Advanced Searching for more info.
Keyword Favourites are just like Keyword Recordings, except they don't record. This is handy for keeping an eye on specific actors or for shows that match your keywords.
To add a Keyword Favourite, search for something using the Search field and then click on “Add a Keyword Recording or Keyword Favourite”, set the desired options (including setting Action to Favourite), then click Add Keyword Favourite.
Device. This is the device you'd like to record to. You can have up to 3 devices per IceTV account.
Network. In case your favourite shows are on more than one TV Network. Particularly useful for Keyword Recordings and Regional users that receive more multiple channels showing the same shows.
Action. Set this to “Record” to record shows that match the search terms or “Favourite” to only display them in My Upcoming Shows.
Time. Set to lock in your recordings for a specific time of day if you wish.
Record. Select “first runs only” to avoid recording “repeats” that you may have already seen.
Limit Results. This limits how many results per day. It's useful for searches that are likely to give a lot of results.
Quality. Setting the quality to “Only Standard Def” or “Only High Def” will record only that version of the show if both a standard definition and high definition broadcast exists. (For example, for a show that appears on both SBS and SBS HD simultaneously you will only record the version you have selected and not both).
(Please Note: If you have selected a specific version and the show is not broadcasted in this version, then the show will not record.)
That's where “Prefer High Def” & “Prefer Standard Def” come in. If you are unsure whether there are two versions of the show available but have a preference as to which version you'd like, then choose either “Prefer High Def” & “Prefer Standard Def”. This way the show will record in whatever version is available and in the version you want.
